Come to our first volunteer event that will support local families whose children have cancer and are going through treatments. This farm experience not only supports the kids who have cancer but their families as well.

Embrace Compassion is a 501(c)(3) charitable organiztion recognized since 2011, thriving through community support and volunteer efforts. Their farm experience program serves children in cancer treatment and their families on 2.5 acres in Sherwood, where they grow food, offer gardening education, art projects, and create a safe community for children with low counts from chemotherapy. They have cultivated a vibrant farm featuring 500+ dahlias, grapevines, blueberry shrubs, veggie garden boxes, and various animals, including goals and chilckens. They host 80-100 people for their Farm Experience Saturdays, helping families affected by cancer find respite and connection.

There is a participation fee of $15, which will be collectively donated to the Embrace Compassion on that Sunday. Each adult volunteer will have the chance to create and take home a quart-sized jar filled with 10-15 beautiful dahlias.
